When dadada Baby launched the new Spirit Crib, we knew it would be a game-changer for growing families. To showcase the first 8-in-1 convertible crib in our collection, we invited Christine Yun, a mother of two and the creative force behind lifestyle and motherhood blog Trend Envy (@trendenvy), to share how Spirit adapts to real-life parenting needs.
Can you introduce yourself to our readers? Tell us a little about your family and about Trend Envy.
I'm based in San Francisco and live here with my husband, 2 boys (a toddler and newborn) and our AussieDoodle dog. I've been in San Francisco the past 10 years and love raising a family here due to the diversity in culture, food, and wide array of activities and events. I started TrendEnvy in 2010 during my fashion blog era (anyone remember Blogspot?) to give tips on how to incorporate fashion trends into your everyday wardrobe. Since then, I've evolved and transitioned into motherhood content. While I still love posting outfits, I also love posting relatable, real-life mom content to show others how it's really like being a mom in the city while balancing my social life and career.
We love how your content reflects the balance between creativity and practicality. Speaking of that balance, were there any features about the Spirit Crib that stood out to you right away?
I specifically loved how the Spirit Crib is versatile and adapts to the different stages of a child, from newborn to baby to toddler and kid. Parents are often buying different products for different stages but the Spirit 8-in-1 crib is an all-in-one that I can have for years. The style is also timeless so I know it'll grow with my little one and match his room through every phase.
Absolutely! With the included cradle mattress, toddler rail and 6.3" low-to-floor capability, we definitely designed this crib to stay in the family. What are your favorite moments or memories so far with Spirit Crib?
Since I have a newborn, it's been super helpful having the Spirit Crib in the cradle option with wheels since I can wheel him over to different parts of the room where it's more dark for naps, or where there's something more interesting to look at for 'activity time', and/or to different parts of the house to keep him closer to us. I never had a crib with wheels before and didn't realize how convenient it actually is until I had the Spirit Crib.
What’s one piece of advice you’d give parents who are currently designing their nursery or choosing their crib? Any tips for making the space both functional and stylish?
Kids grow out of things so fast, so I recommend getting a convertible crib that can grow with your baby, like a crib that can easily convert to a toddler bed. For the mattress, I recommend getting a waterproof mattress protector because babies are bound to have accidents in bed and it's way easier washing sheets and a mattress protector than it is cleaning a mattress.
