2024 is just around the corner (can you believe it?!?!). We’re looking forward to a New Year full of new babies, new nurseries, and new design trends that keep them cozy, comfy, and feeling like home.
The last few years have opened up a world of new design options to parents, from playful shapes to bold colors, new tech to natural elements. Never before has there been so much inspiration and access to help you create a nursery that truly reflects your family’s style and personality. We love seeing the uniquely-you spaces you create, and the beautiful way our dadada Baby pieces fit into them.
And while we’ll always believe that the best nursery design is the one that feels most like YOU, we also love a trend prediction. Trends are a wonderful starting point for design - they help you discover what’s available, figure out what you love, and rule out looks that don’t work for you.
After combing the internet, here are the four 2024 nursery design trend predictions we found most inspiring. We hope they help get your imaginations going and bring you a few steps closer to defining your personal nursery style!
Natural Textures & Neutral Palettes
Nursery neutrals are here to stay in 2024, but this isn’t your grandma’s beige. The key to a natural nursery that doesn’t fall flat is texture. Layer rich oatmeal, tan, greige, and chocolate tones in nubby boucle fabrics, soft faux fur, reeded wood or pole wrap wall coverings, woven jute accessories, and natural wood furniture.
You can’t go wrong with these Natural/Neutral beauties:
This timeless, vintage inspired style is all about details. The key to a meaningful Grandmillenial nursery is making sure heirloom and history make an appearance throughout. Use old family photos in reclaimed frames, hand-me-down stuffies and quilts, and treasured family children’s books alongside safety-tested new pieces that blend with the classic vibes.
A whole design philosophy built around the fact that kids are fun - and their space should be, too! The key to wonderland whimsy design is bright pops of color, playful unexpected shapes, and a willingness to think outside of the decor box. Mix and match tubular lamps, bouncy chairs, rainbow rugs, and colorful mobiles for a nursery or toddler room that’s pure fantasy and play.
Even in the smallest nurseries, the walls offer an opportunity to make a big design statement. Maximalized walls have been trending for some time, and they're not going anywhere - probably because a mural, art collage, or wallpaper are often the most affordable and impactful way to show off your personal style.
